LUZ Y FOTOGRAFÍA

Todo lo que la cámara registra es gracias a la luz, sea natural o artificial. Precisamente por ser tan obvio, esto suele olvidarse y ocasionar grandes decepciones entre aficionados y hasta entre profesionales.

Por regla general, cuando una fotografía es interesante, lo es en gran medida a causa de la luz que recibe la escena, incluso por encima del propio motivo. Esto puede comprobarse fácilmente observando una misma escena a lo largo del día y de la noche. El motivo es siempre el mismo, pero su interés varía según la luz que lo ilumina.

La luz es el gran protagonista de la fotografía.

Cuando se trabaja en exteriores, las condiciones de iluminación de la escena suelen variar considerablemente en pocos minutos y el fotógrafo debe adaptarse a ellas y aprovecharlas en su favor.

CUALIDADES DE LA LUZ NATURAL

Las cualidades más importantes de la luz, desde el punto de vista fotográfico son: calidez, frialdad, suavidad y dureza. Se dice que la luz es perfección. Cálida o fría según predominen los colores anaranjados o azulados.

Se considera que la luz debe cumplir cuatro requisitos básicos:

1- Iluminar el sujeto o escena. Al incidir sobre el motivo, la luz produce sobre él determinados efectos que permiten su reproducción.

2- Dar información precisa sobre el sujeto o escena. La luz informa acerca de la textura, el tamaño, la forma y el entorno del motivo. La información sobre estos elementos permite la adecuada combinación de los mismos para que el resultado fotográfico sea interesante.

3- Crear ambiente y dar carácter a la fotografía. La luz pone de relieve las cualidades del sujeto, sugiere estados de ánimo y crea la atmósfera acorde con las necesidades expresivas del fotógrafo.

4- Transmitir emociones. La combinación correcta y sugerente de luz y tema produce en el espectador el efecto buscado.
